Reporting into the Head of Organisational Development/Change Consulting, the role of Principal Consultant in Organisation Design will be to work in partnership with senior leaders across the Department to diagnose, develop and implement organisation design solutions that increase organisational effectiveness within the DWP.
The areas of focus are:
• Embed the Organisation Design and Change Management Framework and Toolkit as a means increasing DWP change capability
• Establish and lead an internal organisation design community of practice
• Work flexibly as part of a team, maximising personal and team contribution to developing internal organisation design capability
• Design and facilitate organisation design interventions that increase organisation effectiveness
• As required, procure and manage external Organisation Design expertise to support delivery of DWP organisation design interventions/activity
• Work with National School of Government and other government departments develop and embed the Organisation Design Framework and Toolkit across government
• Build DWPs reputation as an opinion leader in the field of Organisational Design and Development.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in organisational design expertise. Candidates will have worked as an Organisational Design Specialist, possibly as a Consultant or Analyst in a consulting environment. Candidates must demonstrate experience in organisational design projects, preferably in large or complex environments. You will have well honed consultancy skills, be able to work as part of a team and able to manage a range of internal clients with differing business needs.
This position could be an opportunity for a consultant to move into the public sector or for an analyst with exposure in organisational design who is ready to take their next step. This is a challenging opportunity to make a mark in an organisation that can offer significant personal growth. A masters level qualification in; Organisational Behaviour, Organisation Design, Organisation Development or Organisational Effectiveness is desirable but not essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong evidence of Continued Professional Development.

What's on offer
£43,200-£53,480 (National rates) plus central government benefits £47,550-£58,070 (London rates) plus central government benefits. Flexible starting salary may be available subject to experience. Closing date July 7th 2009.
