As Head of Finance at our London School you will report to the UK Director. You will be required to manage a team of two and be wholly responsible for providing efficient and professional Financial and Management Accounting services to the School. It is further envisaged that this role will quickly evolve and you will be given responsibility for overseeing and managing the IT and Facilities functions (supervising two managers) as well as dealing with the risk and governance strategy for the School.

As an integral part of the role you will liaise with decision makers (at all levels) providing them with accurate advice, information and support in all matters relating to the School's finances. In relation to this you will be responsible for developing practices, procedures, staff and culture ensuring that the resources of the school are maximised and utilised effectively.

In addition, you will also maintain and develop adequate controls and be responsible for the compliance with the Charities and Companies Act. This will include some company secretary duties.

A further summary of some of your main duties and responsibilities is listed below:

• Preparation of Financial Management Reports for the School (Both UK and Paris), the Trustee Board and the Senior Management Team within the School.
• Production and review, in collaboration with the budget holders and the Paris School, of the 5 year Business Plan.
• Liaising with the auditors for the year end financial report.
• Management and development of the School Finance Team.
• Supervision of the Facilities and IT managers
• Provision of ad-hoc financial information to support various School Projects.
• Overall management and development of the payroll service.
• Administration of the School's benefits package.

Who we're looking for
A qualified ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or overseas equivalent ACCA (CCAB or overseas equivalent) accountant with the following skills:

• Evidence of solid exposure at a senior level to both financial and management accounting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• An understanding of payroll, VAT and the duties of a Company Secretary would be an advantage.
• Exposure to risk and governance strategy.
• The ability to speak French would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent commercial acumen and a desire achieve. Candidates who have a knowledge of managing Facilities and IT would be at an advantage however we will seriously consider those candidates who can show an aptitude to take on these additional responsibilities alongside Finance.

What's on offer
