You will be expected to support all the demands of production with regard to process, product, equipment and training, taking corrective action when deviations arise.
Be responsible for the engineering change process, taking a disciplined approach ensuring all departments are aligned for smooth integration to business. Measure and control all BOM, to ensure 100% accurate as well as manage process for adherence for the response to Customer Options.
Investigate and implement efficient methods of reducing administration within department (PDM, BOM creation, burn plan creation, DXF file transfer, etc) and ensure new designs are robustly challenged within Design Review Process.
You will also be responsible for manufacturing engineering, champion the implementation of continuous improvement techniques, LEAN principles and manufacturing data accuracy to reduce cost, improve efficiencies and develop the internal processes.
Maintain knowledge of modern manufacturing processes suitable to the business, ensuring proactive implementation accordingly and manage adherence to SAP R/3 requirements to support the business.
Who we're looking for
Our client is looking for a candidate who is a time served engineer ideally degree qualified from the manufacturing sector. You will have previous working knowledge of BOM's and ideally have previous strong management skills in a heavy manufacturing environment with a previous background in design engineering and general engineering management. You will have working knowledge of SAP systems and have a solid understanding of Lean or 6 Sigma to be in line with the new age manufacturing techniques the business is adopting. You will be highly motivated and have a firm but fair management style in order to adapt to this work culture.
