The commercial lawyer role has a broad scope of accountability within this small but busy in house legal department. For the right person this role provides a great opportunity to lead and shape all areas of the business.
Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will be responsible for:
• The reviewing, negotiation, drafting and administrating of a wide variety of commercial contracts including retail, IT, marketing, facility, utility and confidentiality agreements.
• Dealing and advising on compliance issues, debt recovery, litigation, customer complaints, due diligence and company secretarial matters
• Managing external lawyers
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidatewill be a technically strong lawyer who is commercially focused with the ability to deliver pragmatic business solutions in a demanding and fast moving environment. It is anticipated that you will have 5 years PQE some of which will have been spent in industry. You will have strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence and work effectively at all levels within the organisation. You will have the ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritise and consistently deliver high quality work in a timely and accurate manner. Finally you must be a confident self starter with a strong work ethic and a good sense of humour.
