Working in conjunction with colleagues across the business, the Industrial Relations Manager will be responsible for the ongoing development of relations with employees and Union partners. They will be accountable for a suite of deliverables that will ensure continued business improvement from an operational and engagement perspective. The role has a wide ranging scope which encompasses all aspects of industrial relations management including;
- Pay Bargaining
- Trade Union relationship management
- Providing advice and guidance on M&A activity
- Working with our HR Analysts to generate relevant management information
The role will require the successful candidate to develop strong relationships with several trade unions that the Company is in partnership with. This will include some national and international travel as required.
The role will report to the Group Employee Relations manager and is based in Bradford.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience gained in an organisation where Employee Relations is high on the agenda. We are looking to hire a professional who has a strong blend of technical Employee Relations knowledge and a pragmatic approach to solving business issues, ideally gained in a multi-site unionised environment.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies which will be covered at interview;
- Technical experience (employment law and Industrial relations)
- Influencing
- Stakeholder management
- Negotiation
- Project management
- Leadership
In support of this the successful candidate will have strong analytical and numerical skills and will be at ease presenting complex data to a range of audiences.
