The HR function is highly regarded within the business and externally. As such, they have been instrumental in helping to deliver significant business change programmes and growth during the economic downturn. This is a high profile role for Smiths News, reporting to the HR Director, sitting on the HR Leadership Team and leading a team of 3 including a dedicated recruitment advisor for Instore, Smiths News' field marketing business. Although predominantly an operational role the successful candidate will have the capability to proactively move the Group's recruitment strategy forward as part of the talent agenda, and contribute to the broader HR agenda as part of the HR leadership team.

The Role
Smiths News are looking for an experienced Recruitment Manager who has the ability to manage all internal and external recruitment, including the graduate and apprentice schemes, whilst developing a significant interface with the management population at all levels of the business. As the growth of Smiths News continues, the recruitment manager will ensure that the recruitment proposition is responsive to business demand, but also adds greater value strategically.The current implementation of a new i-Grasp system will be an integral part of this transformation and the Recruitment Manager will be tasked with maximising the return on this investment.

The ideal candidate will have both operational and strategic skills and will need to be able to demonstrate:

• Previous experience in an in-house recruitment role
• Proven track record to be able to deliver volume recruitment and specific projects simultaneously
• Management experience
• An understanding of i-Grasp or similar web based recruitment tools
• A consultative approach to building relationships across a broad employee base
• Graduate Calibre
• Level A and B qualified
• Extensive interviewing experience
