As a result of significant and continuing growth, Balfour Beatty Capital is strengthening its presence in the North East with the creation of a new concession finance team that will look after a portfolio of 5-7 PFI concessions. Supporting the Financial Controller and Financial Analyst, they are currently looking to recruit three Company Accountants who will be responsible for the accounting function of 1-2 PFI concessions each, ensuring that concession, lender, shareholder and statutory requirements are met.
Responsibilities will include:
*Preparation of UK GAAP monthly management accounts with commentary
*Preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with auditors
*Cash flow forecasting
*Preparation of annual budgets and the financial model
*Ownership of all general ledger accounts
* Preparation of corporation tax, VAT and CIS returns
*Production of balance sheet reconciliations
* Ad hoc support to the Financial Analyst, Financial Controller, and concession General Managers
Who we're looking for
Potential candidates will be strong practical, part or recently qualified accountants. You should possess the ability to communicate at a range of levels, an ability to work on your own initiative and a good degree of IT literacy. Sector experience in PFI is desirable but not essential, and familiarity with Sun accounting would be beneficial.
