Michael Page Retail is recruiting for a Retail Director in a specialist Beer, Wine, Food and Kitchenware Retailer in East Anglia, Northern Home Counties and London. As Retail Director you will report directly to the Managing Director and liaise with several members of the Board and be the lead in the growth and development of this already successful Beer, Wine, Food and Kitchenwarebusiness. There are currently nine stores, the majority of which are across the East Anglia and Northern Home Counties Region, however, they do have a London presence and a desire to grow to twenty stores quickly.
Who we're looking for
In order to be considered for the role of Retail Director, the successful candidate must display a variety of skills/traits/experiences-
• A strong track record of achievement within a leading retail business.
• Exceptional retail skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to lead the development of the business with regards to: product, concept, service, location etc.
• A commitment to service.
• A genuine passion for beer, wine, food and kitchenware,
• Strong on processes, you will be someone whose depth of knowledge and personal approach would allow Adnams to establish strong operational practices and allow the business to grow with consistency.
• Experience of managing multiple stores.
• Strong communication skills and prior experience of reporting at a senior level.
About our client
Adnams has been brewing its famous beers from its home in Southwold, Suffolk since it was established in 1872. In more recent times Adnams has diversified into several associated areas, and now boasts a number of successful businesses: Pubs, Hotels, Wine, Brewing and its retail concept Cellar&Kitchen. There are currently 9 Cellar&Kitchen stores predominantly in East Anglia. Their stores combine quality wines from around the world, hand-picked by a team of experienced wine buyers, Adnams beers and a fantastic selection of kitchenware. The stores offer incredible quality of product supported by knowledgeable, passionate staff and have been successful to date. The Retail Director will be expected to maintain this growth, lead the expansion of the store network to in excess of 20 stores and take a significant role in developing the Cellar&Kitchen store concept.
