Senior Buyer - Packaging & Ingredients

As a key part of the purchasing team you will manage around a £50m direct spend whilst driving bottom line growth through your product areas. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing you will directly manage a Buyer and Assistant Buyer. Within the role you will be accountable for;
• Setting the overall procurement strategy for you business area
• Managing the supply base in line with the agreed strategy
• Be able to "trade" effectively to ensure our customers needs are met, whilst maximising profit opportunities
• Deliver against KPI's including spend, working capital, service delivery standards etc.
• Lead and develop your team, whilst playing a key role in the overall strategic direction of the UK Purchasing function

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in buying for one of the big four supermarkets or in an equivalent environment. Alternatively you will be with a leading manufacturer or supplier business in a procurement role. Your earlier career will have demonstrated blue chip training combined with an ability to progress your career to a Senior Buyer level. Whilst having worked within packaging and / or ingredientswould be an advantage it is not essential and candidates from other product backgrounds will also be considered.

Having successfully operated in a senior buying role for the past few years you will now be looking to progress your career further.The idea of moving into a medium sized business with a broader commercial remit is likely to excite you. Ideally of degree calibre you will be a strong communicator who is able to demonstrate the following;

• Customer orientated, always striving to deliver the highest levels of service and quality
• Strong negotiator, hungry and challenging when required
• Commercial and strategic decision maker
• Strong team player who can lead, develop and motivate a team

2 Sisters Food Group is one of the UK's largest and fastest growing fresh poultry suppliers serving virtually every major UK supermarket retailer in the UK. Our key customers include Tesco, Sainsbury's and M&S in addition to other businesses such as Pret a Manager and KFC. We currently command around one third of our market and have demonstrated our level of ambition with a number of acquisitions which have helped the business grow by 50% in the last two years. Employing over 5,000 people, with eleven UK manufacturing sites our head office is in West Bromwich.

Going forward we have ambitious plans including continued UK and International growth, further development of our purchasing operation, systems development and maximising greater efficiencies from our supply chain. All this will be centred around a continued focus on our customers and we are looking to make a key addition to the team who can help move the business forward.
