A well established Independent Firm based in Manchester are now looking to recruit a Tax Partner to help develop the Tax department. A snap shot of the role can be seen below: • Work winning • Generate work for tax team by attendance at prospect meetings as lead person on tax opportunities and support on BS/CF opportunities - conversion of opportunities. • Attendance at client meetings as lead person on tax opportunities and support on BS/CF opportunities - conversion of opportunities. • Follow up and convert tax leads provided. • Involvement in marketing initiatives for tax in core market including seminars, articles, evolve etc. • Attend networking events (daytime/evening). • Identification of opportunities and initiatives to generate tax project work. • Drafting and presentation of proposals to prospects including competitive tender opportunities. • Cross selling services.
Client delivery • Supervision of tax advisory project work and review and sign out responsibility. • Occasional involvement reviewing tax compliance matters and HMRC enquiries. • Support to Corporate Finance on large corporate and international - including shadowing on EU harmonisation, progressing to lead role in the market segment. • Delivering to deadlines, on budget and for profit. • Presentation of solution directly to clients. • Instructing Tax Counsel where appropriate.
Team development • Assistance to tax team/partner/manager team on technical tax issues. • Supporting development of junior tax team colleagues. • Attendance and participation in tax technical meetings/IGAF technical meetings. • Attendance at tax training courses.
Practice management • Achieving personal targets/objectives. Contributing to team targets. • Attending weekly production meetings. • Assisting in administrative matters of the tax team.
Who we're looking for
A Tax specialist from a mid tier or Independent firm who is currently in a Partner position and looking for a fresh challenge, alternatively a Senior Manager/Director who is now looking for the next step up.
