As the Financial Controller for my client's successful operation in Jersey you will have responsibility for leading and managing a team responsible for financial planning, transaction processing, financial accounting and reporting as well as Treasury risk management. You will have overall responsibility for the financial control framework of the organisation to meet business, regulatory and statutory requirement. This is a Senior position within the business, reporting to the FD, which has excellent career progression opportunities.
Key accountabilities include:
- Responsibility for the management of the finance function, specifically covering : statutory/financial/group reporting; tax compliance; management accounting and reporting (budgeting , forecasting, project costs); MI analysis and system and reporting development; accounts payable and supplier management reporting.
- Providing support to the key government committees: Senior Management, Risk& Compliance; Risk; Portfolio Steering and the Board of Directors and Audit committees.
- Providing guidance to managers and their staff on the timescales and work allocation needed in order to meet deadlines and quality of work required.
- Development and maintenance of relationships with Executive Directors and business managers, discussion and resolution of major issues and the provision of financial and other technical/consultancy advice to support businesses planning and business unit decision making.
- Responsible for the relationship with the Group and international finance functions.
- Lead, manage and produce the Year plan financials, budgets and forecasts through close co-operation with business unit managers and departments.
- Plan medium/ long term priorities and deliverables for finance team with associated resource requirements such that all reporting and other service delivery deadlines are met.
- Take responsibility to seek training opportunities for personal and team development to constantly maintain and improve quality standards within the department.
Who we're looking for

In addition, the following are essential:
- Hold a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Have a proven track record post-qualification within Financial Services/Banking Industry.
- Experience of regulatory reporting and sound knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
- Fully conversant with GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Ability to provide advice and recommendations into the developments of the business area.
- Comprehensive knowledge of department processes and procedures and sound business knowledge is essential.
- Ideally hold an EU passport.
