As a Senior Ingredients Technologist you will develop recipes for new products and investigate ingredients for product mixes, fillings, frostings etc. A senior member of the NPD team, your knowledge and technical expertise will help ensure all product ingredients meet customer and regulatory compliance guidelines. Working with the team you will conduct experiments to test or improve upon recipes for Dawn Foods manufactured products. Conducting research to develop new methods of processing or production of Dawn Foods Products and / or customer labelled goods. Ensuring that all experiments meet the regulatory guidelines set for food manufacturing.
Responsibilities will include: • Maintaining all acquired ingredient documentation related to the creation of any Dawn Foods products in accordance with departmental and regulatory guidelines. • Examine potential new ingredients for allergic or chemical reactions. •Perform ongoing maintenance of ingredient database to ensure system accuracy needed for the testing and development of Dawn Foods products. • Contact vendors to question and / or challenge their product requests and verify need for specific ingredients or content specifications. • Provides constant support and information to team members in New Product Development and / or R & D to ensure the most accurate, up to date data is being disseminated. • Respond to inquires from customers and consumers regarding product content and labelling.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for candidates with a passion for Sweet Bakery and a working knowledge of food science and nutrition either through a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemistry or Science related field. Able to work closely in a team with a knowledge of bakery processes and equipment. Experience in the bakery sector would be highly desirable. Key Requirements: • Experience in bakery / food manufacturing or related field. • Recipe / Formulation and raw material knowledge / experience. • Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Knowledge of food regulations • Proactive team player
