The Commercial Modelling team is growing fast due to an upturn in deal activity. Our client is building their capability to service their clients' needs for high-quality, commercially focused information designed to provide real business insight. Theteam's work includes M&A modelling, business planning & forecasting, options analysis / decision support, and the development of management reporting systems.
With strong national presence and capability, the group's service offering complements the wider range of the firm's services.The firm is currently looking for experienced specialists to join the rapidly expanding team within its Advisory team
The work includes:
Business planning and forecasting
M&A modelling
Business case / investment case preparation
Development of interim management reporting systems
Options analysis
The firm operates across all industry sectors.
Responsibilities
The projects are challenging and often time pressured and will in some cases involve working in large multi-disciplinary project teams. Working as a specialist in the advisory team you will:
• Manage the collection, review and challenge of assumptions and data for inclusion in the models
• Manage version control of the data and the model, and ensure that a full audit trail of the data and the model is maintained
• Develop analytical techniques and ways of presenting data/information
• Liaise effectively with all but the most senior client staff
• Contribute to developing an outline of key issues and scope of work
• Contribute effectively to project teams and take responsibility for completing work of appropriate quality within agreed timescales
• Maintain contacts with key client staff once a project is complete
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have :
• A numerate degree
• Experience or significant knowledge of complex financial models
• Proven experience of delivering financial modelling oriented projects in a professional services environment
• Strong commercial skills and a broad range of general knowledge on wider business and economic issues Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills
• A strong understanding of financial and management accounting application and concepts
• Advanced Excel skills including the use of Visual Basic for Applications
The following experience and qualifications would also be desirable:
• An accountancy qualification
• Experience of corporate forecasting and reporting systems; for example Hyperion, Cognos, SAP.
