Wrigley's commitments
The Wrigley Company is strongly committed to encouraging environmental awareness and promoting responsible behaviour towards our environment.

For the past nine years we have been working in partnership with ENCAMS on a variety of environmental initiatives and campaigns designed to promote environmental sustainability.
In November 2000 we launched a new and innovative education programme called Active Citizenship. Designed by teachers for primary and secondary pupils, Active Citizenship teaches responsible environmental behaviour within the overall context of being a good citizen. The materials are free and available to all teachers in the UK and assists them in their teaching of Citizenship - Part of the National Curriculum since September 2002.
Wrigley has also partnered with Girlguiding UK to develop an activity module called 'Take Action'. This has proved to be one of the most popular modules to date. 'Take Action' is a themed activity pack, for girls aged 10-14, about community action with a difference. The pack is fun and easy to use, and about making things happen on a local, national and global stage.
With programmes such as these, Wrigley aims to promote better environmental awareness. Wrigley also takes very seriously our commitment to Plymouth and the surrounding area. Having been based in Plymouth for over thirty years we feel very much part of the community. We employ over 600 people at our factory in the city and contribute significantly to the local economy, business environment and many social aspects of the city.
We sponsor local sports teams and competitions, especially for local children, provide work experience opportunities for local schools and run regular collections for local charities.
