Barclaycard in the Community

Barclays is committed to playing a leading role in the communities it serves. Our community investment makes Barclays one of the country's top corporate contributors (based on figures from the PerCent Club). One per cent of our UK and Africa pre-tax profit is committed to investment in community programmes. Our other major programmes support education, social inclusion, the arts, those with disabilities and the environment.

We actively encourage our employees to give their time and energy to local charities, urban regeneration and all forms of volunteering. Our community affairs team work with community partners, voluntary organisations and employees to allocate resources where they will make a real difference to the community. We aim to deliver lasting benefit to our partners, support employees who give their time and expertise, and help build a healthy social and economic environment in which to do business.

Where employees undertake activity to raise money for charity, we will match the value raised by a maximum of £750 per employee, three times per year. We will also give employees up to two days a year paid leave to do work for a charity or the local community.
