Leading PC manufacturer looks for a General Manager
Michael Page Executive Search was retained by one of the world’s leading PC manufacturers to recruit a Vice President UK & Ireland, responsible for accelerating expansion in this region and growing market share against more established competitors.
Given the confidential nature of the assignment and the specific experience required, the brief was clear from our client, ‘Put in front of us the top people from our competitors’, and that we did. The shortlist consisted of the number one person from each of their Top 5 competitors for interview by their EMEA President, described by the client as an outstanding hit rate.
We backed the process up with several other senior candidates from other industries and from further down the target organisations to ensure our client had a broad selection of qualified talent from which to choose their preferred candidate. Following the success of the search, we are now the senior recruitment partner across all functions for our clients’ EMEA organisation.
VC backed retailer needs a Finance Director
A VC backed retailer approached us with a requirement for a Finance Director who had previously worked in a private equity retail environment. A combined search and web advertised selection methodology was utilised. Our research team identified 40 target companies of the correct turnover size and the web advertisement attracted a significant number of high quality responses. A short list of six candidates was presented to our client, three of which went to third interview stage and the process resulted in a successful hire.
FTSE 200 Group requires 2 Divisional Finance Directors
The Business Services practice was recently invited by the CEO and Group CFO of a FTSE 200 organisation to assist with the recruitment of two Divisional Finance Directors. The incumbent recruitment partner had failed to deliver a qualified shortlist for the two roles.
Given the profile of the roles a highly proactive recruitment methodology was adopted. Operating on a retained basis a hybrid approach of executive search and advertised selection was undertaken. Assisted by the in house research team twenty target organisations were identified and selected Finance Directors were approached. In addition the roles were advertised on the front page of the Financial Times. The advert yielded a response of 120 candidates. The response from the search and advert were screened and suitably qualified candidates were interviewed against the brief for each role. A qualified shortlist of five candidates for each role was delivered to client within four weeks. After a series on client interviews two candidates accepted the respective Finance Director roles.
As a result of this success the practice is now the recruitment partner for all senior appointment across all functional disciplines within this Growth Business Services organisation
