On Saturday 6 June 2015, over 80 PageGroup employees from across the UK journeyed up to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to trek the grueling 25-mile course, in aid of their charity partner, Teenage Cancer Trust.

In the seventh year of tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, PageGroup staff raised over £32,000 which will go towards supporting young people with cancer.
The challenge, renowned for testing people’s strength and endurance, traditionally sparks PageGroup employees’ competitive spirit. This year saw Greg Amann finish the course in a PageGroup record-breaking 4 hours 23 minutes with Kat Jackson hot on his heels in 4 hours 57 minutes.
Oliver Watson, Managing Director at PageGroup said:
“The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge has become a remarkable tradition for PageGroup throughout the years and I’m extremely proud of our people who return year-after-year to complete this demanding challenge. We are thrilled to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and kick off our two-year partnership with a bang.”
The specialist recruitment company selected Teenage Cancer Trust for a two-year partnership in May through a staff vote and pledged to raise £200,000 that will fund 8,000 hours of vital care and support via their Expert Care Programme.
The Expert Care Programme includes the funding of youth support coordinators, specialist units and expert nurses in teenage and young adult cancer care.
“We were shocked to discover that cancer kills more young people than any other disease in the UK and seven people aged 13-24 are diagnosed every day. It’s important for us to support charity projects where our fundraising helps to make a real difference and the Expert Care Programme is a prime example of this. Teenage Cancer Trust patients will receive one hour of expert care for every £25 raised by a PageGroup employee,” explains Mr Watson.
Since 2006, PageGroup has raised over £1m for charity through various partnerships, including Breast Cancer Care, the British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital and most recently, Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Heather Bowen, Regional Fundraising Manager for Teenage Cancer Trust said: “PageGroup employees have really thrown themselves into the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with impressive spirit.  We’re delighted to have them on board to help raise money to fund the vital work we do for young people with cancer.”
