Job Description

Your role will involve:

Technical Drawing:

  • Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings, plans, and elevations using CAD software
  • Collaborate with architects to transform design concepts into construction-ready documentation.



Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including specifications, schedules, and material lists.
  • Ensure that all technical drawings adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.



Collaboration:

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to understand design requirements and contribute to the development of solutions.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide technical insights and address design challenges.



Drafting and Modelling:

  • Utilize 3D modelling tools to create visual representations of architectural designs.
  • Develop detailed drawings for construction, including floor plans, sections, and details.



Code Compliance:

  • Stay informed about building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all architectural drawings comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Keep a global mindset



Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control processes to review and verify the accuracy of technical drawings.
  • Work collaboratively with architects to address any discrepancies and refine drawings as needed.



Material Research:

  • Research and recommend construction materials that align with design specifications, budget constraints, and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials.



Accuracy and Precision:

  • Ensuring Technical Precision: In the product development process, precision and accuracy are paramount. You contribute by creating precise technical drawings that serve as the blueprint for construction and implementation.



Efficient Project Execution:

  • Smooth Project Workflow: By creating detailed and accurate drawings, facilitate a smoother workflow within the product team. This efficiency is crucial for meeting project deadlines and ensuring that all aspects of the design are executed as intended.



Problem Solving:

  • Addressing Design Challenges: You will often be involved in resolving design challenges during the execution phase. Your ability to problem-solve ensures that any issues are addressed promptly, minimizing disruptions to the project.



Cost-Effective Solutions:

  • Budget Adherence: Through careful documentation and material research, contribute to the development of cost-effective solutions. This is crucial for managing project budgets effectively.



Sustainability Integration:

  • Sustainable Practices: Contribute to sustainability goals by researching and recommending environmentally friendly construction materials and practices.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have experience working on both construction projects to understand the buildings/projects that these products will be part of as well as the design process of the products themselves.

You will ideally have:

  • A qualification in Architectural Technology or related field.
  • Experience as an Architectural Technician (can be flexible for the right person)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Revit, BIM.) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction techniques, and materials.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
