Job Description

The Area Sales Executive will work in conjunction with their Area Sales Manager counterpart in order to increase market presence and sales across the national / independent Wholesalers in key areas such as Electrical, Plumbing, construction and Industrial markets but also online retailers and other target market sector.

  • Analyse the UK marketplace for specific product categories
  • Maintain a category / product focus (based on Features, Advantages, Benefits) and develop relationships by expanding the range within existing and new accounts.
  • Provide data on markets, customers and competitors.
  • Support the existing distribution network sales forces with product training
  • Attend joint visits with existing sales members within the distributor network (with a specific focus on Key Account customers) which will include end user site visits and demonstrations.
  • Support the company with Trade Show duties
  • You will be based from home however extensive UK travel will be required.
  • Located Midlands / South with the specific territory to be defined based on the selected Area Sales Executives location.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a high energy, enthusiastic and motivated individual, that is driven, and that can work in a structured, target oriented manner.
  • Be successful in Business Development with a proven track record in an autonomous sales role, ideally representing a premium branded industrial product however this isn't essential.
  • Ideally have previous experience of working with and influencing across a number of markets - tool merchants, builders merchants, electrical wholesale, plumbing wholesale, hardware shops, agricultural wholesale, electronics, specialised wholesale.
  • Successfully demonstrate a proven track record in delivering growth within a specialist industrial client base via a distributor network, wholesalers and forging end-user relationships.
  • We would also consider individuals that are looking to progress their career with a leading manufacturer that have the right attributes to be successful.
  • Located Midlands / South where the company will build a territory around the individual.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An aptitude for selling premium, branded products.
  • A strong product background, affinity towards tools and technology, taking a category approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Individuals with a passion for DIY or house renovations / have a trade background would be highly considered.
