Our client, founded in the 1980s, is a global top Asset Management Firm, fiduciary to investors and leading provider of key financial technology solutions. As of 2022, the organisation managed approximately $10 trillion in assets globally for their clients, and your role would be to help manage these client and internal relations as part of the EMEA Client Contracting Team.

Job Description

The Associate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts within the Client Contracting Team. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate drafting, negotiation, and coordination of contractual documentation for Institutional Clients.
  • Facilitation and coordination of all internal SME stakeholders across different regions involved in the contracting process ensuring their comments flow through to the contract and requisite approvals are obtained.
  • Partnering closely with various teams across the EMEA business to ensure contractual terms and minimise risk.
  • Negotiating client documentation within the remit of the Client Contracting team, escalating appropriate risk where necessary.
  • Supporting the sales team with contractual documentation queries.
  • Communicating any contractual documentation changes to a client mandate to applicable internal stakeholders.
  • Capturing and recording relevant non-standard contractual clauses on an ongoing basis and maintaining the contractual documentation database.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and client experience improvements.

The Associate Counsel will work closely alongside stakeholders and other teams across the business as a good opportunity to get involved in other aspects of business structuring and operations.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate would be 2+ years PQE and have a background in commercial contracts, preferably within a regulated environment. Financial services experience would come as an advantage.

The successful candidate will be required to attend either the London or Edinburgh office and be interested to work for a global business in supporting a growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment.
