The client are a large national based Housing Association with a forward thinking approach and a great deal of work going into Building Safety and this role will be based in the London region.

Job Description

The key responsibilities as the Building Safety Project Delivery Manager are as follows:

  • Act as the technical lead, internally and externally, in the delivery of building safety projects
  • Commission and manage building safety investigations, analyse the findings and prepare schedules of work to remediate defects
  • Deliver building safety projects to achieve the highest level of VFM
  • Manage project consultants and contractors, ensuring they perform in line with their scope of services
  • Proactively manage contract compliance including post contract/performance and service delivery reviews
  • Ensure compliance with project deadlines and internal/external service compliance requirements
  • Ensure projects/schemes meet the funder's requirements and are procured in accordance with financial regulations with robust record keeping in line with audit compliance levels
  • Provide a customer focused service, working closely with internal & external stakeholders to ensure continuous engagement and a smooth handover at practical completion
  • Work closely with Asset Management, Customer Services and colleagues to enable effective delivery of projects
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Fire Safety regulations and play a key role in ensuring integrity of Fire Safety throughout project delivery (golden thread)
  • Develop and maintain good relations with internal/external stakeholders and potential partners, including the Local Fire Service, London Fire & Rescue Service (our Primary Authority), The Building Safety Regulator, Local Authorities and consultants
  • Assist in the preparation of oral and written reports to Board, Executive Team and/or Project Review Group.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Building Safety Project Delivery Manager will need the following:

  • Proven experience of working within teams successfully delivering major building safety projects such as external wall investigations and remediation projects, sprinkler retro fit installations, Type 4 FRA's, compartmentation works and fire door replacements
  • Extensive building/fire safety and renewal/regeneration component replacement knowledge
  • Up to date practical knowledge of The RRO, PAS 79, Sprinkler install standards and associated construction practices
  • Proven track record in successful project management and negotiation
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment, managing project budgets and controlling expenditure
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office and attention to detail to enable accurate recording for audit purposes
  • CFPA Diploma or similar
  • Technical Building Related degree
  • Member of relevant professional body such as IFE, CIOB or RICS
  • Driving License
