About Our Client

I am working with a SaaS company within the Retail space.

This innovative organisation supplies merchandising solutions to large supermarket client across the UK and globally.

They are searching for a Business Analyst with experience of working within the Retail industry to join their growing business as they roll out some very exciting and forward thinking projects.

This role is based in Leeds and offers hybrid working with 3-4 days in office.

Job Description

  • Working with customers and internal teams to gain insight into future product requirements
  • Working with cross functional team to development business case to support the build, deliver and launch of enhancements and new modules.
  • Identifying specific requirements to meet a business need, produce a solution document to document that need
  • Write Stories/Specifications to provide the development team and other stakeholders of what's required to build out the new functionality
  • Brief all internal Stakeholders on the functionality so they can test, train, implement ,
  • Support development and test teams to build and test the functionality
  • Being the internal champion for your assigned portfolio areas and
  • Ensuring the business is educated and kept up to date with all products in your portfolio
  • Competitor analysis covering competitive products in your assigned areas
  • Market analysis looking for new trends and product opportunities
  • Driving performance of products in portfolio through internal teams through incremental improvement
  • Working with Product Marketing and Sales to identify the value and benefits of the company's solutions

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 4+ years as a Business Analyst or similar in a relevant business area
  • Background/Experience in Retail - Supermarket/Convenience or Wholesaler/Symbol Group
  • Strong analytical skills to identify business needs and requirements
  • Experience/ knowledge of Merchandising Solutions (Pricing/Promotion/Media/Supplier Collaboration) with Retail/Wholesale business or relevant retail software company is desirable
  • Previous success in the enhancement of business IT solutions in a relevant area
  • Strong IT Skills and in-depth experience in the development process as a business analyst
  • Strong writing skills and an ability to identify the keys issues and requirements and document them in a concise, but easy to understand way.
  • Understands the importance of collaboration and teamwork
  • Proven experience in using Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience as Developer/Senior Tester or System Design
  • Presentation skills - demo to Prospects/Existing Clients - Speaking at Industry Events
  • Good understanding of technology and experience in using SQL
  • Experience in Prince or other Project Management methodologies / tools.
