- My client is seeking a Business Affairs Legal Manager to join their small team
- This is a permanent role, based in central London and embracing hybrid working
About Our Client
The team is still relatively new and expanding fast. Their principal products include a subscription service that provides fitness and health content on TVs, and free to air TV broadcasting, which offers extensive TV channels and video on demand with no subscription or sign-ups.
Their product and content roadmap is ambitious and exciting. With support from design, development and PM teams from around the world, they are constantly expanding the scope of their brand, developing new channel propositions, launching on new devices and in new European territories.
Job Description
Your Key Responsibilities:
Handle business operations for TV services, vendor accounts and new product requirements in UK/EU
Coordinate with in-territory ESBO representatives to collect and keep track of questions (including legal queries) and related commercial feedback to facilitate and ensure effective communication to EO Legal and timely resolution of issues
Ensure that new and existing services, including linear and VOD OTT, are compliant as per EO Legal advice/guidance
Take responsibility for communicating compliance changes to partners, licence applications/renewals and ongoing regulatory liaison and reporting, working with / updating EO Legal as appropriate
Awareness of new upcoming regulations, highlighting any risks and coordinating communication with EO Legal and/or raising issues to EO Legal.
Work closely with PM/BD/Ads teams, EU representatives, Head Office and Senior Management
Undertake ad hoc projects and duties as determined by Senior Management
The Successful Applicant
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Previous experience of working in broadcast media, particularly for a public-facing general entertainment TV or video on demand product
Good understanding of digital media services and regulatory frameworks across Europe
Proven track record working alongside legal teams ensuring cross-European compliance with applicable legislation
Ability to interact with partners at various levels, both internally and externally
Effective planning and organisational skills. The ability to handle several initiatives at once and prioritising tasks effectively, and reacting to late requests and fast-changing events
Calmness, enthusiasm, sense of humour, a can-do attitude and the willingness to pitch in when needed
A genuine passion for video on demand and TV products in general, with a desire to provide the best product experience possible
European languages (desirable)
