Our client is an award-winning technology and engineering organisation providing high-end products and service solutions across international markets, including the energy and transport sectors.

They are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Supply Chain Specialist to support the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, while maintaining efficient day-to-day supply chain operations.

Job Description

The Responsibilities for the Buyer -12 Month FTCAs the Buyer you will be responsible for:



  • Lead the migration from a legacy ERP system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.


  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing agreements, and procurement accuracy.


  • Maintain high data integrity across ERP and MRP systems.


  • Oversee stock control to meet production and sales forecasts.


  • Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and identify new supply sources.


  • Manage import/export documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.


  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Business Development.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Buyer - 12 Month FTC should have:



  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.


  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) or equivalent professional procurement experience.


  • Proven ERP/MRP experience - ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.


  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.


  • Background in inventory management and safety stock control.


  • Excellent communication, organisation, and negotiation abilities.


  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to change.



Desirable:



  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.


  • Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and continuous improvement principles.


  • Familiarity with import/export procedures and logistics documentation


  • Experience in procurement and supply chain within the industrial or manufacturing sector.


  • Strong analytical skills to assess supply chain performance.


  • Knowledge of inventory management and procurement systems.


  • Ability to negotiate contracts and maintain supplier relationships.


  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.


  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Based in Bristol this role is Hybrid 3 days office 2 Home per week
