About Our Client
A public sector client in the West Midlands.
Job Description
- To undertake purchasing activity, to ensure timescales are met and report to the Contract/ Category Managers any problems in achieving deadlines.
- To action requisitions undertaking appropriate purchasing activity or passing to the relevant element of the team to meet the fast order processing criteria.
- To monitor contracts and supplier performance within the allocated Division, to work with the Divisional Coordinators to ensure contract compliance by interaction with the customers and utilising data and information to develop the most cost effective and appropriate supply route.
- To undertake specific projects, including pre and post tender discussions with both customers and suppliers supported by the Contracts Manager
- To identify potential contract areas through liaison with the Category/Contract Manager & Divisional Team Leaders and Divisional Coordinators, utilising a Procurement information system to aid this process through analysis of database information and preparation of statistical reports and recommendations.
- To provide support as required to the Contracts Managers in addition to ensure liaison with collaborative partners over future contract activity as required.
- To sign orders in accordance with signing protocols ensuring they are correct and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
- To ensure full compliance with all current and relevant legislation, Trust Standing Financial instructions and departmental policies and procedures on Procurements and general management issues including Health & Safety, Employment Policies and Corporate Governance.
- To provide reports to management at agreed intervals and as required to internal and external customers. Additionally to ensure savings and increases are clearly identified and reported to the Contracts Managers.
The Successful Applicant
Strong purchasing skills and depth of experience across a broad range of commodities
Contract management experience including ability to produce Tenders and Quotations
Can manage multiple projects simultaneously, can prioritise well and enjoys working on complex projects- Ability to analyse complex information
