Job Description

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Buyer' should have:

  • Proven working experience as a buyer in the retail industry.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel.
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.

What's on Offer

The Buyer will receive the following;

  • Competitive salary ranging between £38,000 - £45,000 per year.
  • Hybrid working model, with 3 days in office (Bristol) and 2 days from home.
  • Flexible working hours, with key hours between 9am - 3.30pm.
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
