About Our Client

My client are a Global business with a strong order book who are experiencing year on year growth. They are seeking an experienced Buyer to join the team at their site in Preston.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for the Buyer will be:

  • Responsible for the spend over one category (approx £5mil)
  • Management of supplier performance
  • Negotiation with external stakeholders
  • Day to day expediting orders and ensuring OTIF
  • Sourcing (Far east)

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be/have:

  • Experience within a Purchasing department
  • Ideally MCIPS or part CIPs qualified with a desire to continue
  • Knowledge of overseas supply base
  • Knowledge of textiles would be advantageous
  • Confident communicator at all levels
