About Our Client
Our Industrial client have undertaken a strategic review of the Procurement function and are now seeking experienced Category Managers with experience of delivering Category Management strategies for direct materials and services within a project build environment.
Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement you will work with business customers to identify areas where strategic procurement can deliver cost effective solutions for the organisation.
Develop category methodology, plans and strategies to deliver commercial benefits for the organisation
Development of a Strategic Sourcing methodology and approach that delivers against overall category strategy
Provide support, advice and guidance for business stakeholders to ensure excellence in contractual/purchasing matters.
Lead and support supplier negotiations focusing on the commercial elements of the project
Develop a regular Governance and reporting framework for each project to demonstrate delivery against the agreed savings target
Implement an appropriate Supplier Management approach, provide ongoing Supplier Performance Management and Supplier Relationship Management for key suppliers
Support key business strategies and projects associated with any category and the management of RFI/RFQ processes and activities in support of these strategies and projects
Assist with the development of team members, ensuring adequate skills development, training and succession planning

Experience of developing and delivery category management and strategic sourcing strategies
Team Management and development
Strong engagement skills with experience of presenting at a senior level both internally and to external customers and Suppliers
Demonstrable track record in the delivery of YOY savings targets and identifying commercial opportunities within an organisation
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytic skills
Excellent negotiation skills, problem solving and contracts skills
