About Our Client
Exciting opportunity to join a global blue chip consulting, digital services and software business. As part of a wider corporate transformation programme this is one of 3 roles that have been created following a restructure of their procurement operations to reflect best corporate practice. Through optimising its spend leverage, raising the quality of its procurement skills and utilising its offshore capabilities they have created a highly efficient team. The objective of the central procurement team is to manage all external spend by the wider group and ensure key strategic suppliers are closely monitored and aligned to wider business goals and strategy.
Job Description
- As Category Manager you will manage a sub category spend across the Group that has critical business impact. You will manage spend from between £50m to £100m and cover Facilities Management including hard and soft and some property/estates, Human Resources, Professional Services and IT/Telecoms
- Ensure value for money and manage supplier performance
- Manage risk represented by a large and widespread supplier base
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and influence these in line with procurement best practice
- Responsible for leading cross-functional teams of operational stakeholders, sourcing and commercial managers through the sourcing process to deliver breakthrough results that deliver commercial advantage for the business
- Develop strong supplier relationships
The Successful Applicant
- Depth of procurement delivery within multiple indirect categories, ideally with one of those being Facilities Management, property/estates, MRO or corporate services
- A flexible and resilient approach with stakeholders in order to positively influence and navigate a wide stakeholder base
- Strong track record of developing and implementing procurement strategies
- Commercially focused and numbers driven
- Confident and compelling when communicating both verbally and written
- Degree or equivalent qualification
