This is a well-known, progressive and expansive law firm based just outside of Manchester City Centre. The firm are going through a stage of expansion and are looking at bringing in a clinical negligence paralegal to assist with a growing workload. The firm work with a wide range of both individual and commercial clients, and offer extensive legal exposure with good career progression opportunities.

Job Description

This is a paralegal position within the firms clinical negligence department, which is a highly reputable team that have a good client base and a good quality of work. As a clinical negligence paralegal, your typical roles and responsibilities include, but not be limited to:

  • To carry out administrative tasks as necessary eg. maintenance of databases, recording time accurately, etc.
  • To assist in case based tasks including obtaining informal expert opinions to assess the viability of cases.
  • To obtain disclosure of medical records and other case related documentation
  • To prepare instructions to medical experts and counsel
  • To prepare witness statements
  • To assist solicitors in their conduct of clinical negligence cases

The Successful Applicant

The firm would require the successful candidate to have a minimum of 6 months prior clinical negligence experience in a legal environment. Having strong academics is also essential, as this position is likely to lead to a training contract. Ideally, you would have a 2:1 in your LLB and have the LPC certificate. The firm are based just outside of Manchester, so having the ability to travel and/or use public transport is essential.

If successful in your application for this role, the firm would offer a competitive salary, which is negotiable depending on your previous experience. The firm are mostly office based, however do offer some flexibility with remote working once you are fully up-to-speed within the role. This position is likely to lead to a training contract after some time within the firm.
