Job Description
As a Communication Officer you will work across the departments and help to deliver stakeholder communications and public affairs.
You will also produce content and strategic communications including letters, briefings, articles, speeches, and media releases/statements.
Support the corporate communication function in delivering key messages across government, councils, and various other partners
The Successful Applicant
As a Communications Officer you will have great support and development. You would have previous worked as a communication or PR professional
- A degree (or equivalent experience) previously worked in a communications role
- 3+ year experience in communications, public relations, external communications, public affairs, or media relations.
- A proven track record of producing content for multiple channels on-line and offline including web content and social media output as well as some internal communications
- Ability to write engaging copy on a wide range of subjects and for a variety of audiences
- Ability to identify a good news story and the relevant media to target
- Highly computer literate, with high level competence in the use of Microsoft Office, the Google suite, plus email and the web
- Proven skills and experience in delivering high-profile events
- Knowledge of the Higher Education environment and issues affecting the sector would be advantageous
