Job Description



  • Support the Head of Professional Liability in managing and reporting claims, including insurance notifications and renewals.


  • Investigate client complaints and claims, drafting responses or coordinating with external counsel for complex matters.


  • Maintain accurate records of complaints and track related deadlines.


  • Act as a liaison with the Legal Ombudsman.


  • Assist the General Counsel with internal and regulatory investigations, as well as other contentious matters, including disputes with external suppliers.


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including SRA Standards and Principles.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate should have:



  • 5-7 years' qualified experience in civil or commercial litigation, ideally with a focus on professional negligence.


  • Background in handling claims against solicitors and insurance coverage matters is advantageous.


  • Experience may come from either fee-earning or in-house legal roles.


  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and demonstrating strong initiative.


  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex or difficult decisions clearly to stakeholders.


  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the firm.


  • Resilient, adaptable, self-motivated, and ideally experienced in a large City or international law firm environment.
