Job Description

  • Comply with the responsibilities laid down in the Group's Health and Safety policy to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Construction Department.
  • To achieve all targets and objectives within specified timescales and budgets whilst maximising the profit potential of the division through management of the performance of the construction team.
  • Working with the other divisional directors to deliver the 3-year strategy to achieve the 3-year forecast.
  • Work with the Sales Department to deliver exceptional customer care.
  • To manage the development of sites, in accordance with the specifications, programme and number of legal completions agreed by the Divisional Board;
  • To ensure that best practice is followed;
  • To ensure that costs are controlled;
  • To ensure that site preliminary/overhead costs are properly controlled;
  • To ensure the department maximises revenue generation and contribution to the Company's operating profit.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will likely have the following experience and qualities

  • Management experience at senior or appropriate level for 5 years
  • Management of Construction function
  • Previous experience as Contracts/Construction Manager with a major volume house builder
  • Ability to manage, motivate and support staff
