About Our Client

You will be working on behalf of a market leading glass manufacturer on one of their facilities in Yorkshire. They employ over 16000 members of staff worldwide and have over 50 production facilities in operation. They use 100% recyclable materials and the reason for the role is that they are replacing their furnace in line with the carbon 0 initiative.

Job Description

You will be responsible for the delivery of this crucial construction project from pre-construction phase through to completion. You will be required to support the design team with the drawings and tender and appoint suitable contractors to deliver the works. You will ensure the project is carried out effectively with the correct contractual paperwork and manage the successful contractors to ensure successful delivery to the highest standard, on time and within budget. You will report to the senior manager of the Technical Services team and have no internal line responsibilities, just the external contractors. You may also need to attend senior progress meetings to update stakeholders as and when required.

The Successful Applicant

You will have a strong background in a similar role and be able to demonstrate suitable knowledge and experience managing projects from Pre-Construction through to completion. You will of ideally managed industrial projects before although this is not essential as long as you have manged projects involving a similar nature. The nature of the project will include alot of heavy civil work therefore a background in civil engineering will be highly beneficial. You will have knowledge of CDM regulations and ensure these are implemented on site with the correct measures in place. You will hold all relevant qualifications related to this role such as CSCS card and a recognised Construction/Project Management qualification. You will be a self starter and a good communicator, enabling you to act with integrity as a representative of the business whilst ensuring the project is delivered successfully to a high standard.

You will be offered the guarantee of 2 years work in the form of an FTC which will be pad via the PAYE method to enable you to qualify for the same benefits the company offers their permanent members of staff. These include contributory pension scheme, private healthcare and 25 days holiday + BH. Salary is negotiable on experience and you will also receive a £5,000 completion bonus following the successful delivery of the project. Contracted working hours are 37.5 hours per week and will offer flexibility in line with the business needs.
