About Our Client
Our client are a fast-growing, global commodities company based in London. Through a combination of brokerage & advisory services, they seek to assist their clients with the move towards a lower carbon future by reducing some of the frictional costs surrounding lower carbon practices.
So far they can count their impact as abating over 350m tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Their small legal team has a flat structure & collaborative working style, with a focus on supporting stakeholder needs and providing fast-paced advice to their internal clients.
A broadly non-transactional role, the successful candidate will be focusing on a wide range of commercial agreements. This could include anything from licence agreements, supply agreements (e.g with compliance consultancies, IT providers etc), exchange membership agreements, lease agreements, brokerage agreements, employment matters, IP applications etc.
As with any in-house commercial role, there will be an element of assisting with whatever comes across your desk on any given day.
The Successful Applicant
The successful commercial lawyer will have a good understanding of the responsibilities of in-house counsel and a sound basis of knowledge in a wide range of commercial agreements. Some previous experience in a brokerage, exchange, investment manager or similar would be brilliant, but is by no means a requirement.
Previous experience of global/cross-border work would be a big plus.
