Job Description

Credit Analyst

  • The main responsibility of the Credit Analyst team is to produce and present top-tier analyses and recommendations on a portfolio of corporate clients, including both annual reviews and new transaction requests.
  • The primary objective of the Credit Analyst team is to help the bank cultivate client relationships while managing credit risk and adhering to regulatory standards. This is accomplished by collaborating closely with Relationship Managers and the bank's Risk function.
  • Provide support in relationship management activities, including preparing credit applications and credit ratings for the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Department.
  • Assist in preparing client annual review reports.
  • Aid in monitoring and reviewing facilities and loans post-drawdown, maintaining efficient procedures to track covenant checks, timely reviews, waivers, compliance, and legal matters.
  • Continuously monitor the credit portfolio for changes in credit quality due to specific counterparty issues or broader market conditions, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Stay informed about market trends in international business, including significant trends and events in the UK and global credit markets.

The Successful Applicant

Financial Services

  • Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in producing and presenting Credit Analysis/Credit Papers in a Corporate, Commercial, or Investment Banking environment. Experience in analyzing companies across various sectors is preferred.
  • A degree-level education is required. Formal credit or accounting qualifications are advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills in credit analysis, including financial statement analysis, sector research, and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of banking products from a credit risk perspective, including plain vanilla commercial and corporate banking products (overdrafts, syndicated lending, term loans, cash management, guarantees, and letters of credit).
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Experience with large corporate clients is desirable.
