About Our Client
Financial Services Firm
o Maintain a current understanding of the Data Management Policy and Standards, and Data Governance strategy.
o Maintain a current understanding of how the Policy and Standards apply to the functions and technology landscape as it develops over time.
o Support the Data Governance Director with the development of bank-wide Data Governance processes.
o Actively promote Data Governance, Risk & Conduct standards with subject matter experts through on-going stakeholder engagement.
Risk and Compliance
o Assist with identifying risk and conduct issues in line with policies, procedures and standards.
o Monitor levels of risk and conduct within business functions.
o Manage and maintain risk registers and support Risk and Conduct Manager in escalating and working with functional areas on initiatives to improve compliance.
o Maintain and working knowledge of data quality standards and how they relate to compliance issues across the data management organisation.
Reporting and monitoring
o Prepare regular reports on levels of compliance with the Policy and Standards by business functions for submission to business function leaders and Executive Committee.
o Support the Data Governance Director with monitoring performance of data controls on quality, access and usage.
o Support with the development of data governance training materials.
o Track the assignment of data ownership and stewardship to data domains and elements, and support the Data Governance Director in maintaining the Data Ownership model reflecting ongoing changes to business functions, roles and responsibilities.
o Maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of Equity / Debt products and relevant data.
o Awareness and ongoing development of formal data management and governance frameworks.
o Awareness of Data Management Tools and assist the Data Governance Manager in an on-going programme of education and positive engagement within all functional areas.
The Successful Applicant
* An understanding of Data Management Principles and their practical application.
* An understanding of financial products, specifically Equity and Debt.
* Experience in monitoring compliance and performance via metrics and producing reports.
* Experience of working in a similar Data Governance role within financial services.
* Experience in using metadata management tools such as Collibra.
* Experience with GDPR or similar data regulations
