About Our Client

A Data Protection Officer & Privacy Counsel role sitting with a company operating in the clinical trial space internationally. The business offers services direct to consumers and is experiencing a high level of growth. This position is a stand alone role, working closely with the US Legal Counsel and reporting to the CEO.

Job Description

This Data Protection Officer & Privacy Counsel role can be based in Bracknell or remotely,key responsibilities:

o informing and advising the company and its employees carrying out processing operations about their obligations under data protection laws;

o monitoring compliance with the GDPR, HIPAA and other applicable data protection provisions and internal strategies for the protection of personal data, including the allocation of responsibilities, awareness-raising, and training of staff involved in the processing operations and related audits;

o on request, advising in connection with the data protection impact assessment as appropriate

o cooperating with the supervisory authority; and

o acting as a contact point for the supervisory authority on issues related to processing of personal data

o acting as a contact point for the exercise of data subjects' rights as of Art. 12-23 GDPR, and processing their inquiries related to data processing activities

o contribute to the further implementation and roll-out of the global privacy strategy of the organization, taking into account the interplay between clinical trials regulations and privacy legislation

o creating, updating privacy related policies and processes and contribute to the compliance of ISO27001 and BS10012 standards

o support the technology team and Chief Technology Officer with the implementation of global privacy requirements

· Develop productive working relationships across the company

· To work and co-operate with others, taking part in departmental meetings, team briefings and project work and support other team members and provide assistance when necessary to ensure the team collectively achieve their goals

· Provide ad'hoc support to the contracts team on the legal aspects of agreements entered into

· Handle escalations on contracting matters as appropriate

The Successful Applicant

This Data Protection Officer & Privacy Counsel role can be based in Bracknell or remotely,key requirements:

- Qualified lawyer with privacy experience

-Prior experience of working as a registered Data Protection Officer

-International data protection experience

-Broader legal background useful
