About Our Client

I'm delighted to be partnering exclusively with NHSBT as they enter phase 2 of the blood technology modernisation programme. As Delivery Lead you will be responsible as part of the blood technology product centre for the effective and safe delivery of complex and high-risk technology change to national critical applications and infrastructure that will underpin the UK blood supply chain. NHSBT is based in Bristol but are open to candidates being based close to other sites in England.

Job Description

The successful Delivery Lead will be responsible for:

  • Delivery and performance of the team, ensuring everyone is clear on the plan and working together effectively
  • Management and delivery of agile projects or releases
  • Defining project needs shaping into a planned, iterative schedule to enable resource to be appropriately allocated
  • Removing obstacles for the development team, lead a continual planning process overseeing the delivery of all tasks and assigned releases
  • Working across the product lifecycle to deliver effective change (discovery to live) actively managing and addressing all risks, issues and dependencies and their associated mitigations
  • Ensuring all products and services meet the Government Digital Service and NHS Service Standards and assessments, with successful handover to live at time, cost and quality
  • Coaching and mentoring team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques

The Successful Applicant

The successful Delivery Lead will possess:

  • Demonstrable Delivery Lead experience, ideally with prior NHS experience
  • Strong software delivery lifecycle knowledge (essential)
  • Proven coaching and mentoring experience
  • Proven budget, governance and resource management experience
  • Ability to influence, drive alignment and communicate across multiple business areas
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to lead on multiple in-flight projects
  • Experience of both Waterfall and Agile
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and a can-do attitude
  • A willingness to travel to other UK sites as required
