Job Description

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team you will create a customer-centric environment where compliance, service and people are at the heart of everything we do.

The Distribution Director is accountable for operational & customer KPIs, adherence to quality and safety standards at every site as well as shaping client focused solutions that deliver strategic growth from bespoke added value services.

The Distribution Director is also responsible for initiating & executing continuous improvement to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the functions to enable the maximisation of revenue, control cost, and profit and well as effective management of all the operational deliverables and teams.

  • Responsible for setting and delivering operational KPIs
  • Accountable for budgets for all sites within the UK
  • Coaches, leads their team through an engaging style
  • Drives job standardisation to ensure adherence to the quality KPIs, legislation & minimise deviations to the SOPs (Work instructions)
  • Sets up and leads the delivery of new client implementations
  • Manages all suppliers as per the SLAs
  • Ensures all sites comply with health & safety policies and work closely with the H&S team to drive proactive H&S culture

The Successful Applicant

  • Currently working in a Parcels, Complex 3PL Organisation, Chilled Foods, Short-Shelf Life Product Distribution
  • Strong senior management/director experience at a country level (budget owner) or equivalent
  • Relevant experience within a supply chain management & new site implementations
  • Experience of delivering and expanding operational KPI's
  • A proven track record of effective people management
  • Experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills to work and influence with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong track record in productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Experience in medical/pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience in highly regulated and/or temperature control environment
  • Experience in Six sigma and Lean
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data including budget management
  • Articulate, presentable and confident enough to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Computer literate including warehouse and transport management systems
  • Degree in Logistic Management
