Your expertise will be instrumental in preventing downtime and optimizing performance.Job DescriptionSafeguarding equipment and services by conducting maintenance tasks, guaranteeing electrical safety and optimal equipment performance through planned preventative maintenance systems.Performing limited mechanical maintenance on equipment and services, such as changing cylinders, replacing chains/sprockets, belts, and bearings.Addressing electrical and minor mechanical breakdowns/failures, executing repairs promptly.Responding to operational needs across various departments like Machine Shop, Worktops, and Central Maintenance.Contributing electrical expertise to in-house designed and built new installations, including wiring electrical cabinets with Programmable Logic Controllers and other components.Conducting fault finding and diagnostics on equipment.Assisting external contractors during the setup of new machinery and services.Implementing machinery modifications while adhering to electrical safety protocols.Managing the procurement, receipt, and utilization of electrical parts following accurate specifications.Collaborating with the Engineering Buyer, suppliers, and manufacturers to source parts or solutions for electrical breakdowns, if necessary.Fabricating, utilising milling and lathe turning operations, for manufacturing new or replacement parts.Initiating purchase requisitions for required parts.Utilising manufacturer's maintenance and operating manuals for effective troubleshooting.Maintaining open and effective communication with all colleagues.The Successful ApplicantA recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering and NVQ Parts 1,2 & 3.Electrical fault finding / diagnostic skills experience e.g. locating breaks in electrical circuits.Understanding of how Programmable Logic Controllers work.Understanding of how machinery works.Knowledge and awareness of Electricity at Work Regulations.Certificate in the IEE Wiring regulationsKnowledge of correct systems for working at height.Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.Ability to work at heights and outdoors.A proactive and self-motivated individual.What's on OfferThe working hours will be 39 hours per week. Shifts are 14:30-23:00 / 6:00 - 14:30 on a rotating shift. You will start off on day shifts whilst training. This could take anywhere between 6-12 months dependent on experience.Your salary will be up to £39,500 with overtime available paid at time and a half.On call duties are infrequently part of the role and will be expected within around six months of service. This role would add an additional £2,400 to your annual salary.
