About Our Client
The client is a successful distribution centre based in Doncaster that stocks and distributes FMCG products.
The Engineering Supervisor will work panama shifts and be responsible for:
Manage through a small team of around 3 maintenance technicians. Activities in line with customer agreed annual budget.
Monitor resource levels to ensure that they are line with planned maintenance requirements at all times.
Ensure that all technicians and associates operate in line with Health and Safety Legislation by the involvement in all risk assessment and associated corrective actions.
Promote a strong Health and Safety culture on-site aiming for a nil accident facility.
Supervise service contracts for Engineering and Mechanical Handling equipment ensuring KPI's are met and exceeded.
Ensure all engineering activities are performed in line with contractual and service obligations and to defined business standards.
Proactively drive continuous improvement.
Act as a senior point of contact within the technician team for the customer in the event of ongoing engineering queries, offering support to the operational team with site performance queries.
Ensure the facility is secure, clean and reflects the companies drive for best in class status.
Develop team through training and multi-skilling to minimize dependence upon outside contractors and provide cost savings and/or added value.
Contribute to a through training, and operational understanding to form a cohesive engineering team that is focused on the needs of it's customer and delivering the maintenance plan.
Ensure that all staff are managed according to the values of the business.
Actively participate in the formulation of succession plans for the contract management team through the use of appraisals, PDP's, personal objective setting, etc.
Adherence to company policies for control pf absense, holidays, etc and ensuring that wherever possible absense is contained to within budgetary levels.
Application of company disciplinary procedures ensuring that all technicians are operating within the defined procedures and that they are applied fairly and consistently at all times.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Engineering Supervisor (panama shifts) will have:
- 3yrs supervisory in an engineering position
- Experience in budget setting and financial control
- An FMCG background
- NVQ Level 3
- Electrical or mechanically biased
- Experience of contributing to TPM initiatives
- Experience of change management and initiative to seek out cost reduction activities
