Job Description

Actively participate in development and delivery of the accommodation strategy across the whole organization.

* Maintain suitable condition surveys and reports, keep up to date records of all relevant properties across the portfolio in line with maintenance responsibilities.

  • Make recommendations arising from refreshed data, ongoing surveys, and any other emerging sources.
  • Schedule out necessary repairs and maintenance in line with priority and budget, identifying economies of scale across the estates.
  • * Advise, support and lead on energy efficiency options.
  • * Work with Site Managers (responsible for their property), to ensure they meet necessary statutory compliance, best practice, building regulations where applicable, accessibility, fire, health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with our H&S manager, compliance contractor and consultants to help facilitate.
  • Lead and chair monthly progress meetings, take minutes and enforce actions with the contractor and key site managers.
  • * Provide a call off support service to help advise site managers on ad hoc building related concerns or questions.
  • Maintain good, efficient, and frequent communication channels with site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • * Work with the Head of Estates on development projects, ensuring that efficient maintenance requirements are taken into consideration in the original plans.
  • * In conjunction with site visits, undertake Estates H&S inspections on fabric, condition, and open spaces, communicate findings with back up reports, and provide feedback on risk back to site managers.
  • * Prepare tender documentation, technical specifications, schedules of works and plans.
  • Procure contractors, oversee work through to completion, certify completion and payment in conjunction with Head of Estates.
  • * Advise senior managers on planning applications and any boundary disputes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified or in final stages of RICS/CIOB membership or other approved building profession.



  • Experience undertaking building condition surveys.
  • Statutory compliance and maintenance management.
  • Able to understand requirements from a service user perspective.
  • Procurement of services across a range of property areas, including H&S.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Understanding of lease and licences.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, ability to discuss matters with site managers.
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to prioritise initiatives and risk-assess.
  • Positive team player who can provide constructive input and demonstrate successful output.
  • Strong attention to detail, focused and able to anticipate issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other general software applications.
