Job Description

This role is based within the university's Marketing and External Affairs department, working closely with the Marketing and External Affairs Events Manager to support the delivery of the university's Group Events Strategy and extensive Faculty Events Plans.

The role will coordinate, promote, manage, and ensure the delivery of a series of high-profile events right across the Group's locations, promoting the university and enhancing its reputation.

The post holder will communicate with high-profile speakers, academics, partners, alumni, business leaders and other stakeholders to ensure events are of the highest quality and will have outstanding interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

1. Lead the development and implementation of marketing plans in line with the Corporate Events Strategy and Faculty Marketing Strategy.

2. Plan, organise, promote and deliver events working with the community, alumni, key stakeholders and business leads to raise and enhance the university's reputation.

3. Identify, plan, organise the delivery of each event. This will include communications and engagement opportunities, including webinars, live chats and printed materials, to engage with key stakeholder groups and other audiences, before, during, and after events.

4. Support the production of a Faculty Media and Communications Plan, aligned to the Faculty Marketing Strategy, being led by the Faculty Media and Communications Officer.

5. Maintain relevant and sector-specific stakeholder databases for direct mailing activities, advising on client data capture and data management.

6. Utilise technology at virtual events including open days, online chats etc. enabling the participation of staff and the smooth running of the events. To stay abreast of digital and online developments so that online events are contemporary and reflect positively on the Coventry University Group brand.

7. Identify student, alumni and employer testimonials, faculty news and other content to provide regular updates to the faculty webpages.

8. Work with Media and Communications Officers and the central Marketing and External Affairs team to ensure all faculty web pages are accurate, up-to-date and engaging.

9. Work with staff from Marketing and External Affairs to support a portfolio review process by providing faculty specific market insight and data, undertaking desktop research as required.

10. Provide advice and guidance and ensure process and planning documentation is available and accessible (via the staff portal) to support event and engagement management across faculties.

11. Regularly evaluate and monitor approved budget spend and activity against agreed objectives, delivering monthly reports to the budget holder and faculty accountant.

12. Promote commercial and other opportunities to faculty and university staff.

The Successful Applicant

Extensive marketing and events management experience.

Experience of integrated marketing, event and engagement campaigns.

Experience of influencing senior key stakeholders and relationship management.
