Job Description

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:

Finance Leader

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the MD and have responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of the company to ensure the financial health of the organisation
  • Manage the working capital in a balanced way to reduce investment while maximising sales and margin opportunities
  • Lead the finance team to deliver world class service to all stakeholders



Management reporting:

  • Provide timely, accurate and relevant management information to the Group
  • Responsible for the review and submission of monthly management accounts and commentary



Business planning:

  • Responsible for the annual business planning and budgeting processes as well as the preparation of rolling forecasts
  • Prepare all significant capital investment business cases for approval by the Board
  • Assisting in the assessment of business plans and opportunities



Financial controls and governance:

  • Development of suitable and robust financial controls that are monitored & maintained across the business
  • Oversight of the annual audit processes
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for statutory information



Cash management and banking compliance:

  • Maintain rolling cashflow forecasts
  • Ensure appropriate credit control and treasury policies are maintained
  • Maintain positive working relationships with banks and other working capital financing providers ensuring availability of adequate and appropriate funding facilities
  • Robust controls put in place over payments and salaries



Tax:

  • Responsibility for ensuring all tax compliance is satisfied for FuseBox
  • Tax planning and strategy including corporate structuring



Risk management:

  • Ensuring adequate and appropriate insurance cover
  • Maintain a fit-for-purpose internal control framework
  • Establish risk registers the business



Operational:

  • Taking ownership and assisting the MD on various day to day activities that arise in a FMCG business
  • Planning and driving decisions that arise within the business from internal and external factors
  • Management of strategic issues as they arise
  • The Commercial Finance Manager may be responsible for other departments within the business



Commercial:

  • Work in partnership with the MD
  • Work with the MD as a motivator, facilitator and driver of financial performance focussed on achieving the companies long term objectives
  • Make a valued contribution to commercial and operational decision making
  • Explain finance concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to non-finance managers
  • Analyse company and industry data to determine ways to increase profits



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:

  • Strong commercial acumen is essential
  • Qualified accountant - with a minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Excellent understanding of internal controls and systems
  • Ability to drive efficiencies through the implementation of best practice and/or technology
  • Ability to lead and gain credibility with management team across the organisation
  • Working capital management
  • Cashflow management experience
  • Ability to drive improvement and change
  • Be willing to take on project work which may be outside of their core area, as required for the business
  • Strategic Planning experience/capability
  • Ability to react and adapt quickly to disruption
  • Ability to identify industry trends and capitalise on growth opportunities
  • Strong understanding of FRS102

What's on Offer

This role will offer a competitive salary between £75,000-£85,000 DOE plus benefits.
