Job Description

Your role as a FBP - Commercial will be to focus on the revenue generating aspects of the business. A key focus going forward will be the analysis of retail vs wholesale and the role will focus on that. You will be required to identify strategies that could enhance the company profits, perform analysis, and track key KPI's on sales and marketing activities. You will need to be forward thinking and strategic minded to provide critical, actionable information to management and key stakeholders.

  • The main link between the finance department, retail, marketing and sales.
  • Regularly update and analyse variances on key financial and operational KPI's relating to the commercial functions.
  • Aid commercial functions with the budgeting process and provide insights and advice to managers on key variance to budgets.
  • Analyse sales and marketing reports and suggest strategies for improving business performance.
  • Analyse promotional activities to ensure the funds invested are achieving optimal results, per marketing strategies and delivering expected returns.
  • Work closely with the commercial managers and other commercial team members in providing data-backed recommendations to the business to support effective decision making.
  • Coordinate with finance team to streamline and channel efforts to improve financial performance of the organisation.
  • Produce return analysis on areas built that shows when they are expected to generate profit and provide insights on what actions need to be taken to generate profit sooner than planned.
  • Provide monthly reporting and narrative for board decks that provide insight into variances and business strategy around the commercial aspect of the business.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Previous experience in Business Partnering
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and investigative skills
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Sound financial modelling skills to assist with financial planning.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and written to all levels of the organisation and external parties.
  • Proactive individual who enjoys looking for challenges and offering solutions.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Economics; a Master's in Business Administration or a similar field is a plus
