Our client is a leading UK higher education establishment, they are seeking a finance professional who can combine technical expertise with strong business partnering skills to support strategic and operational decision-making across a complex organisation.

Job Description

  • Act as a trusted financial partner to senior academic and professional services leaders.
  • Deliver management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide financial analysis, commentary, and insight to drive informed decision-making.
  • Support business planning, investment appraisals, and project evaluation.
  • Monitor performance against budgets, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with research and planning teams to manage income, grants, and funding streams.
  • Develop and improve financial reporting tools and insights for non-finance stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW) or qualified by experience.
  • Experience in management accounting, forecasting, and financial business partnering.
  • Background in higher education or other large, complex public sector organisations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior non-finance leaders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight.
  • Commercially aware and proactive, with strong Excel and reporting skills.
