Based in Mid Kent, the client is accessible from most areas in North Kent, Medway, Maidstone and Swale, but the role is predominantly site based.

About Our Client

This is a newly created Finance Manager role which would be ideally suited to a strong, all round accountant looking to take a first or possibly second step from an accountancy firm. You will be involved in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, providing insight and analysis on trends and comparisons to previous year / period. Additionally you will be involved in the year end process, financial accounts and financial reporting, proving to be a key ally to the Finance Director. Ultimately you will aim to oversee the month-end process, improve systems, processes and procedures, and support the finance director on strategic projects.

Job Description

Duties for the successful Finance Manager include:

  • Preparing month end financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows/working, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Working with and guiding other departments to ensure spending is kept within budgets
  • Treasury activities to assist cash flow management
  • Reconciliation of general ledger and support for purchase and sales ledgers
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and improving financial information systems
  • Financial performance reporting and analysis

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Finance Manager will have/be:

  • ACA, ACCA or qualified by experience
  • Ideally trained in a practice environment with range of clients including some which are operational service providers, but this is not essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Strong excel skills and the ability to use multiple systems
  • The ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Willing to work on site 5 days per week

What's on Offer

  • £50-60,000 depending on experience
