Job Description

  • Working closely with the operational team and senior finance team to set monthly targets which are stretching, but achievable.
  • Understand and explain movements
  • Analytical approach to ensure sales targets consider the impact of key events, holidays/seasonal trends
  • Influence retail team
  • Understanding of margin rate trends and liaise with merchandising team to refresh the plan as required
  • Oversee accounting and forecasting to ensure variances are managed and understood
  • Process, steam-lining, and reporting improvements
  • Strong analytical approach to ensure no leakage of settlement discounts and reliable forecasting
  • Understanding of commercial terms to ensure accurate forecast vs actual
  • Analysis of costs and trends vs import cost model
  • Ensure that non-epos recharges are tax-compliant and communicated to group companies in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that the ratio of the budgeted cost for entity wages is achieved
  • Challenge operational team on core salary requests
  • Review wages model and analyze data to identify cost opportunities
  • Ad hoc analysis to support the team

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountant.
  • Experience in management accounting is essential.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal required.
  • Strong analytical skills are required in order to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall international business performance.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
