About Our Client

My client is a well-established organisation in their field. They are keen for a strong Finance professional to join them on their growth journey.

Job Description

This role will require you to work 15-20 hours per week over 3 days (with the opportunity to grow your hours with time). The role will be office based for the 3 days.

Main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Manage all aspects of company finances, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Oversee the Xero accounting system, including reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
  • Lead budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Analyse profitability across products and services, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure adequate working capital and secure funding facilities as needed.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and oversee credit control.
  • Ensure VAT, HMRC, and payroll compliance.
  • Contribute financial insight to contract pricing and tender submissions.
  • Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and reporting frameworks suitable for a scaling SME.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified Accountant or strong experience as a Qualified by Experience candidate.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within an SME.
  • Strong proficiency in Xero accounting software.
  • Skilled in cashflow management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting SME growth
  • The ability to travel to Maidstone for 3 days per week.



If you have any experience of contract frameworks or tendering processes that would be very beneficial.
